Mr. Bennett has a unique understanding of the technical and legal challenges that energy companies must confront in an ever increasing complex work environment. With the abundance of shale oil and gas, pipeline companies are challenged to upgrade and expand their infrastructure in a regulatory climate with often vague and ambiguous regulatory interpretations, increased civil penalties and potential for criminal indictments. He has personally lead or provided legal counseling for emergency situations including NTSB pipeline investigations, OSHA employee injury, and EPA spill responses; developed testimony for hearings before the United States Congress; and litigated in Federal District Courts and Court of Appeals.

Mr. Bennett recently served as senior managing counsel for the American Gas Association (AGA). The AGA represents more than 200 investor owned utilities. Prior his 14 years at AGA he held various positions at Kinder Morgan and the DuPont Chemical Company.

Mr. Bennett has a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, was licensed as a Professional Engineer in Texas, and received a law degree from the University of Houston.
