In Docket RM 13-5, FERC is seeking to improve and strengthen the security of the bulk electric system. FERC's rule seeks to impose 12 requirements for new cyber security controls for, among other things, Electronic Security Perimeters, Systems Security Management, Incident Reporting and Response Planning, and Vulnerability Assessment. The proposed standards are based on a January submittal by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC).

Comments on the proposal on the proposed standards were due in mid-June. Interested parties should Contact Bill Mogel (wamogel [@] mogelsweet.com) or Channing Strother (cstother [@] mogelsweet.com).
